Challenge #9 …and the Oscar goes to….

Challenge #9
The Oscars
This will be a movie inspired challenge. Do something that reflects a movie that is special to you. It could be clothing. It could be a painting.
Or you could just make a red carpet for that matter.
(Don’t groan, or I’ll say that you all have to gold leaf something, like the Oscar statue)
Here are some inspirations:
Kat did this scarf, and a golden snitch for Harry Potter.
Harry Potter Scarf & Golden Snitch

Here are some vintage-movie-inspired things: throw pillows and a ticket sign.

This bracelet is Wizard of Oz, by JustBeadIt Designs on Etsy.

Think “Superman”, and the cape and deep blue.
Lord of the Rings, lots of velvet
Gone with the Wind, Sweeping epic, drapes
Film Noir
Old Hollywood
Twilight
You can go in any direction you want. You are not limited to this year’s Oscar candidates.

Have fun and “see you at the show”

    • I know! I'm so excited. I went to film school for a while and worked in the industry. I still giggle every time someone points out, "So you're an award-winning film maker?" 🙂 I could do movie crafts EVERY week!

    • Wonder how many people are gonna do The Princess Bride. Tis my all time fave movie but I figure it is going to get a lot of attention so I might pick something else.

    • Ivenad – The movie doesn't have to be an Oscar nominee or winner. Just any movie that inspires you. As long as you don't saw your project was Gone with the Wind….

    • Oh please someone make a dress out of drapes. That would be so awesome and if I could sew half way decently I would so do it.

Kat I'm doing a classics marathon tonight looking for inspiration but TPB is where I'm going if I don't find anything tonight.

    • I had a hard time choosing between 3 of my favorite movies all of which have for gorgeous costumes and sets.

Princess Bride is also one of my all time favorites, but I didn't think of it and off the top of my head, I wouldn't know what to make other than Iocaine powder and scout around the thrift stores for silver goblets.
