This week’s Iron Craft challenge was to create a project inspired by a movie. Well, who knew that one of our Iron Crafters, Angela at Ferntree Studios, would actually have her craft walk down the red carpet!

Angela was asked to create flowers from combat paper for Robynn Murray (subject) and Sara Nesson (filmmaker/director) of the Oscar nominated documentary Poster Girl.

Combat Paper is made from the uniforms of returning war veterans as a part of their therapy. Read all about it on Ferntree Studio.
Congrats to Angela, what an honor & thrill to see your art walking the carpet!

I can't believe you found a picture from the Oscars before I could! Thanks so much, it's been a total thrill and they look fantastic on the RED CARPET! 🙂

Angie – When I saw your post I knew we had to feature it on the blog so, I was on a mission to find those pictures 😉
This is an amazing project and a really inspiring form of art therapy for soldiers. Thanks for sharing!
That's wonderful!
I bow to the crafty goodness. Bravo! and SUCH a "moment" for you! SO impressive!
That's amazing! And I am surprised how non-combat like the flowers look. I would have expected them to look like, well, fatigues or camo, but they are beautiful!
That is so great. How exciting! I love the combat flowers. Very pretty!
Bravo !!!!
