8 – Hot Geek Coffee Sleeve

Some days your really just want a quick fix project, something you can finish in an afternoon rather than a week or two. I’ve been wanting to knit Matt & I some reusable coffee cup sleeves & figured that would be my quick fix ticket.
8 - Hot Geek Coffee Sleeve
I call Matt’s sleeve the Hot Geek Coffee Sleeve because the design on it spells out “Hot Hot” in binary code. It gave me a chance to see hot the binary code was going to look on his robot mittens. I’m thinking of making this my entry in the Handmade MN February challenge since the theme is fiery.
Knit Coffee Cup Sleeve
My sleeve probably looks a little familiar to you if you’ve followed this blog over the last week. I used the same colorwork pattern as in Lori’s mittens & used up the scrap yarn as well.
These sleeves are a fun way to try out a new design or stitch pattern as well as use up those leftover bits of yarn. Plus now I’ll keep these in my purse so we don’t have to use those cardboard sleeves anymore.

Stats:
Yarn: Matt’s Sleeve – Scrap red & black acrylic
My Sleeve – Vanna’s Choice in Rose Mist & White
Pattern: Matt’s Sleeve – My own
My Sleeve – Colorwork pattern from Tapestry Mittens in Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts ’09

Handmade 365 2010- My goal is to spend time everyday working on something handmade for a year & photograph it.
