Who says the treats for Halloween should just be for the kids?
When we throw a party we like come up with a special cocktail just for the occasion. For this year’s Halloween drink, we’ve taken that fall flavors of apple and cinnamon and added a smoky flare with bourbon and smoked club soda.
Yes, smoked club soda. No, we aren’t putting bottles of club soda in our smoker, we’re just adding a little liquid smoke to regular club soda. It might sound a little strange, but it adds wonderful smoky aroma and just a hint of smokey flavor. It’s good in the same way eating smokey bacon is. We learned the trick from a local restaurant, Cafe Maude, that serves a drink called Smoke on the Water. My husband had to ask the bartender how they got that amazing smokey flavor. When we learned how easy it was we just had to try it ourselves.

*Smoked Club Soda
(You can adjust the amount of liquid smoke to taste. We started with 1 teaspoon per liter and added more until we got enough smoke flavor.)

What a great idea! Okay, so confession, my first vision was club soda on a smoker, but then it dawned on me just before I read your explanation. 🙂
