Thursday night, I saw the last of the Harry Potter movies. I have to admit I got a little teary. Who would have thought a series of movies could keep us so interested for 11 years? It was hard to see the destruction of Hogwarts, a place that was always so magical in my eyes. I’ve not only loved the movies and books for their stories, but also for the knitting they inspired.
I knit up all these pieces for a Harry Potter window for Noe Knit back in 2007 and shared my free pattern for the Golden Stitch.
In 2009, I had a request to make this scarf.
Which was followed by a request for these Hufflepuff mittens last year. I used a cross stitch pattern from The Leaky Cauldron to duplicate stitch the design.
At least I’ll always have the DVDs to revisit again and again, they are actually some of my favorite movies to knit to.
who knew that knitting and Harry Potter would be so linked.
But they are.
Nice post of a LOT of work.
I have knit so many of the scarves: 1 Hufflepuff based on the first movie, 1 Ravenclaw and 1 Slytherin based on the next scarf design, and a sweater which I am just finishing up for my Hufflepuffer of a husband.
I love the scarf!, I’m a big Harry Potter fan & would love to make the scarf, could you give me the pattern for the scarf?, & what kind & color of yarn you used?. Everything you made is amazing!!!.
