It looks like nautical is going to continue to be a huge trend in fashion this spring. Home decor trends tend to follow those of fashion, so nautical accessories are showing up in the stores and catalogs. Take for example this Braided Jute Mirror from Garnet Hill.
This baby will set you back $198. I think you could easily DIY this look yourself with some nice rope, a mirror and some glue. You could do natural rope like they show or a white rope would be great too. You can see where the ends of the rop meet on the mirror, which I thought was surprising. I would cover that with something like a shell.
