In the Stitch Lab, we were busy making scarves for our Mothers. This is a great quick project option.
It was really fun to watch the girls pick out fabric for a project for their mothers. It was interesting to hear them talk about what their Mom wears, or what she likes. Things like “My Mom wears greens and blues” and “My Mom wears all black, that’s easy.” But there was something in their faces, and their eyes even when I asked them. They stopped and thought about it for a moment, and something like a reflection of love passed across their face. They had to picture how their Mom looks, and as they did, I could see a little hint of what they FEEL about their Mom, not just how they picture her. It was truly heartwarming and tender. I wish I had the equipment to capture the look in their eyes.
Honestly, a bunch a 10, 11, 12 and 13 year olds really really love their Moms. Oh how I wish I could be a fly on the wall while they offer their presents.
Here are just a few of the charmers.
To each of you out there, Happy Mother’s Day.
