Challenge – It’s Fashion Baby
On the show the designers had to design an outfit for Heidi’s new line for babies. (Yes, Heidi is using the show for free design work again.) And surprise a companion look for mom.
Ok, we don’t want you to have go buy a baby doll for this one challenge and we’ve already done a busy mom type look. So, if you have a baby doll you can design a baby outfit for it. If you don’t have a baby doll, you can design a high-end maternity look for your regular model (yes, give your model a baby bump).
So, how ridiculous was the whole give them a “real baby” twist? That did nothing to show them what you need in baby clothes. And was it just me or did the babies stop crying whenever Heidi or Tim walked into the workroom? It was like the baby crying was edited into the soundtrack. Also the whole added surprise of having to sew for mom was kind of silly. Yes, it did take away from their time to sew for baby, but why have them sew an outfit that won’t even get judged?
Time Limit – You have 1 day to complete your look.
Budget: $15
Accessories – Feel free to chose accessories from the Lord and Taylor Accessory Wall to go with your outfit.

I don’t follow Project Runway, just Project Project Runway, and now I’m picturing babies in the accessories from the Lord and Taylor wall. It might be funnier in my head.
A maternity challenge will be fun. I’m not doing a baby look. I’m just not.
