Maps have been so popular an imagery in crafts lately, whether it is wall art, jewelry or even wrapping paper. Thing is we all don’t necessarily have a whole bunch of maps around to cut up.
National Atlas is a great resource for state maps you can use in all sorts of projects. I’m really tempted to print a few out on fabric and appliqué them on throw pillows. They would also be great for templates for string art. The maps are available to download as a pdf sized to fit an 8/5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
What map project would you make?

I like the idea but have wanted to do a quilt. How do you print it onto fabric?
Carolann – You can get fabric that is made to go through your computer printer like I used on the photo pillow or you can use freezer paper to make fabric work in a printer. One other choice would be to print the maps on iron-on transfer paper, though I’m not a fan of how stiff this turns out.
