So, this week for Wise Craft’s Granny Square Sampler Afghan Project we were supposed to block our squares to prepare them to start joining together next week. Yeah, well I didn’t do that. Jenny at A Mom and 2 Things and I got to talking and both of us think we are going to need a lot more squares to get the size blanket we want. At least three times as many as we have now. So, we figured we’d keep doing new squares on our own each week until we have enough. (We aren’t sure how many more weeks Blair is going to give us new squares to do.) Plus, we aren’t sure we want to start joining things together until we have them all done so we can lay them all out.
That said, we chose our own square to do this week. This square from Craft Passion doesn’t have a name so we’ll call it the Cross Granny Square.
I like the simplicity of this one and just using two colors adds to that.
We’ve started a Pinterest board with lots of links to other free granny square patterns, so we are ready to continue with our blankets.

I like granny squares but after about 20 of them, I start to get a bit irritated.
Yours look good. I alwasy like the sqares with more than one color.
I know I don’t have enough but I went ahead and started putting it together and will just add squares here and there as I go. Some of the squares I like and don’t have enough of and some I would soon not make again, lol. I don’t think it will need blocking. May have to check out your pinterest board!
