This week for Wise Craft‘s Granny Square Sampler Afghan we did a really pretty square called the African Somalia Flower.
Such a sweet square! As part of the square I learned two new crochet skills, the magic circle and triple crochet. There was no written pattern for this square, just a video, so I also took the time to write the pattern out for myself. So much easier than referring back to the video while I was working. Oh, I also realized this week that I was putting my needle into the wrong place when working into a stitch on the last round. No wonder it was so hard for me, it’s so easy now that I’m doing it right, doh!
So, here is where the afghan stands so far. Looking forward to see what I’ll learn next week.

I love this square! I am imagining a field of these pretty African Somalian flowers in many different colours. Bright & cheery!
