Challenge: This is for the Birds
Challenge: Create a high-end runway looks inspired by one of four birds.
The bird I chose was the owl because I loved the soft browns.
And here is my look.
I fell in love with this gauzy brown spotted fabric, it just made me think brown spotted owl. It really changed my original plan of doing something with fur. Instead, I ended up going with a flowing strapless gown.
I created a structural accent to the top which reminded me of the tuff on the owl’s head. The dress is shaped with a little ruching on one side. The skirt is very flowing and will almost float as she walks down the runway.
I’m hoping the judges will find this dress is beautiful and elegant instead of simple. I do think they will like how I used the owl as inspiration without being literal at all.

The judges will love it! The fabric is just perfect and the inspiration is there without being literal. I love the shoulder feature.
I agree. There is a nod to a ‘feather’. But you didn’t go bananas. It is a good red carpet look.
Wow. I want this dress!
Brown often gets a bad rap in the fashion world, but this dress is beautiful. I think it’s a perfect interpretation of the challenge.
I think this is gorgeous! Several of the looks this time were really good, but I’d give your brown dress the win.
