Iron Crafter Feature – Marri

Hi everyone! I’m Marielle – or Marri for short – or some of you might know me as subliminalrabbit. I live in sunny Santa Monica, California with my fiance, two cats, and a rabbit, just a few blocks east of the ocean – a far cry from the snowy mountains of Vermont, where I grew up! Living in LA can make one lose all sense of normalcy and perspective – but the ocean keeps me sane.

My first love is knitting. I wish I could knit all the time. Sometimes I dream about it – that’s normal, right? But I dabble all over the place and have a bookcase stuffed with random bits and baubles. That’s why I’m loving Iron Craft – lets me flex my creative muscles!

I’m inspired by books, movies, and simplicity in design… In particular I have massive adoration for all things mid-century Scandinavian, and regularly comb my local thrift and antique shops for new pieces to add to my collection. I’m especially enamored of Grete Prytz’s work – so simple and stunning! I can’t watch Mad Men without serious furniture envy. And I read the design blogs daily – DesignSponge, Design for Mankind, Oh Joy, Bloesem – and crafty blogs like CRAFT. I’ve added all you Iron Crafters to my blog roll so I can see what you’re all up to!

You can find me at www.subliminalrabbit.com, where I share whatever I’m working on or wherever I’m hiking. Sometimes I post free knitting patterns – Bella’s Mittens, anyone?
