What is your name? Amanda
Where do you live? I live in Silver Spring, Maryland just outside of DC.
What kind of crafts do you do? I love all art and crafting. I started out painting (oils and water colors) and began crafting more when I had children. Lately I seem to do more sewing than anything else. I am self taught so every new project is a fun challenge. I also just really enjoy making practical and pretty things.
Where do you get your inspiration? Mostly from my children, but also from other crafters. I like reading crafting blogs and have found several new favorites via the Iron Craft blog roll. For the Iron Craft challenge, I have made a rule for myself that I will not buy any new supplies for the challenges. So for the last four challanges inspiration has struck while rummaging through my supply stash.
What new crafts or techniques would you like to learn? The only thing I really haven’t dabbled in is crocheting or kitting. For some reason I find both very intimidating.
Do you have a blog and/or Esty store? I started my blog, namesakedesign, in May of 2009. I created the blog to share projects, inspiration etc. with friends and family. It has slowly grown and evolved, and I actually have a few followers that I have never met in person. In addition to crafting (mostly crafting), I blog about design, decorating, traveling, entertaining, and other things I feel like writing about (such as unique finds on Etsy). Speaking of, I do have an Etsy shop, www.namesakedesign.etsy.com. My biggest seller are my custom coloring book wedding/party favors.
Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself? Most of my crafting is reserved for weekends. During the week I work full-time as a program office for a foundation. I spend any hours left over during the week tending to my son (3) and my daugter (10 months). In addition to crafting, I enjoy decorating, running, hiking, spending time with my hubby, and grabbing lunch with my girl friends.

It is nice to meet you (and your favor idea sounds more interesting than my friends who did a ton of candy).
Nice to meet you!
I cannot believe you have ANY time to craft at all. You are a busy woman!
Glad to know you here.
The custom coloring books are a great idea..they seem so much fun.
Cheers!
