When we saw the number of people who are interested in being Iron Crafters, we thought it might be fun to have a contest from time to time. So, we will be hosting one contest per season and the winner will be chosen by YOU! Plus, there is a prize! The crafter who’s project gets the most votes will get this winter crafting grab-bag* from Susi & I.
(Winter Knit Kit, paint brushes, snowman buttons, white frame, “pearl” beads & gorgeous white fun fur.) |
They’ll also get to post this badge proudly on their site declaring them the Iron Crafter Winter 2011!
1. Create something based on the theme “Winter”. Only on project may be submitted per person. Project must be created during the challenge week.
2. Post your project to Flickr on Wednesday, Feb 9th. Projects must be posted by 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, Feb 10th to be included in the contest.
3. Voting will start on Friday, Feb 11th & run through Sunday, February 13th.
4. Contest is open to everyone in the Iron Crafting group no matter where they live (yes, I’ll pay shipping to Australia, the UK or India even.)
*The prize isn’t huge but, we aren’t sponsored so, Susi & I are providing the prizes ourselves. They will be fun, and festive and wonderful but, likely not an all expenses paid 3 week Greek Isle cruise, more along the lines of “glitter” and other wonderfulness. (Though if anyone knows how we can get a sponsored Greek Isle cruise please let us know!)

Of course the real prize is the glory 🙂 This is fun, looking forward to it! Thanks for sponsoring the prizes – maybe some of us can chip in goodies from time to time!
Definitely in it for the glory, and I have some yarn in my stash that I am sure I can put in for the spring contest.
Generous Hosts aren't you?? Its damn sweet of you guys to be putting up this contest.
Eagerly waiting to see the projects shared here.
Yay thanks! I am just in it for the creativity and to use up my craft stuff. I am excited about it!
Wow. That is really generous! Thanks Guys.. Cant wait to see the projects!
I am super excited about this idea and the contest. I've got an idea…
Hi Kat. I'm currently developing a new range of silk painting kits. Would you like one to give away as a prize once they are ready?
I would be happy to augment your prize kitty with a set of tin boxed, Mungyo, Aquarell, water soluble, aqua crayons and am willing to ship them wherever they need to go.
I also have project book with 43 vellum images, 44 overlay images, a Paper Pizazz, Slide Mount Mania template, and 7 sets of different size, slide mounts to donate.
You can email me for pictures of them.
WOW! People! That is super generous! (And not fair, cause Kat and I are not going to run for the prizes.)
What a nice community spirit!
Jane & Flash – How generous of you guys! Would you mind emailing me at theironcraft at yahoo dot come so we can discuss the prizes? Thanks!
It is ALL about the glory. I've been knitting until my wrists and elbow feel like giving out. I think if I use my hairdryer to speed blocking I'll actually get this done in under a week. I started Sunday at a knitter's TV-free Super Bowl party.
Fitting for the theme, I almost didn't make it to the party because it was snowing so hard.
Do we post on Wednesday for the contest or should we post on Thursday?
Lori,
If you are done, go ahead and post. I think we are just giving people a little extra time to finish.
I wish I would have seen this sooner! I will be watching for the next one.
