My parents gave me my Kenmore sewing machine at least ten years ago. It has been a workhorse sewing everything from an Anchor Sail to a Bridesmaids Dress to a Lined Wool Coat. But it has become hard to find different feet for it (it uses screw on feet not snap on) & it only does the most basic stitches so I decided it was time to get something a little better. I found a great deal on this Brother on Amazon so I couldn’t resist.
I feel so spoiled with its drop in bobbin & self threader. Plus look at all those cool decorative stitches! This thing does 7 different buttonholes. I had fun playing with it today. I want to feel comfortable before I start using it to quilt next week. Luckily this machine came with all the quilting accessories & a large project table.
Don’t worry my old machine won’t be collecting dust. It’ll go to my mom who’s machine hasn’t worked in a couple of years.

It's always good to have a new toy. I have an embellisher that I haven't used so much, but know that I will do.
Tiz also good to know that your older machine will be being used still.
My old machine may well be on its way to no longer working (the knob that hand turns the needle up and down is severely broken) and I have been dreading buying a new one. Please let us all know how this new machine works out for quilting. Kim
YAY! love new toys :]
I have the same sewing machine! I love mine so much and thought it was a great deal as well. I think it has a lot of great features for being so affordable. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!
