Today I cut the 100 squares from the “plain” fabric for my first quilt. We were told to buy 2 yards of this fabric. I found that amount a little hard to deal with when squaring & cutting so I cut it in half. I only ended up using half of the fabric, so I’m betting I would have been fine with 1 to 1 1/4 yard, oh well luckily the fabric was cheap on sale.
I felt a lot more confident cutting the squares this time. I find I have to re-square my strips every couple of cuts but I feel like my final squares are as close to perfect as I can get them. I’m looking forward to putting the quilt top together next week. I ordered the quilting attachment set from Sears so I have to wait for it to arrive before I can start sewing.

Am glad you are getting used to using the rotary cutter. I have a Fiskars one which sits nicely in the hand, as it is shaped. Hope your shoulders aren't aching too much.
