Been doing a bit of traveling from one coast to the other. Quite tied of planes an airports after flying for 4 days straight last week but it did give me some good crafting time…
I’m on the last stripe of this Harry Potter scarf for the store window. I’m using it as a chance to learn continental so its moving soooo slow.
I got a lot of embroidery done on a new design I drew up a week or some ago. I’m very happy with this one & love the way the brown looks on the robin’s egg blue. I think it will make a fabulous pillow.
Sunday I spent the afternoon in & worked on quilt squares. I got all the pieces cut & these eight squares pieced together. This is only my second try at quilting & I definitely need to work on getting my squares square. I think part of the problem is my rotary cutter which came with my learn to quilt kit just isn’t cutting through the fabric very well & I have to go back & forth a bunch of times. I also want to get a 1/4 inch foot for my sewing machine so I have an exact guide. Still I’m enjoying doing it & I think if I square everything off before I sew it the quilt will turn out fine. It might be a little smaller than its supposed to be but its too early in my learning to quilt for me to stress about that!
finally I leave you with a beautiful night shot of LA from my recent travels.

WOW! its all beautiful!!!
Haha, are we actually doing a Harry Potter window or is it just something including Harry Potter?
I’ll bet you’ll be glad to get that harry potter scarf finished. I made a prizoner of azkaban style scarf a year or so ago. I love it, but I remember how hard it was to stick with it and how long it took, especially if you are using it to learn to knit a new way.
Hopefully you’ll have that groovy HP scarf done in time for the midnight premiere! Love your embroidery.
Oh, I wanted to make my 14 yr old son a HP scarf so bad, but he doesnt want one. Yours is lovely!!!
